Cannabis strains by grow difficulty

Difficulty is the single most predictive variable for first-grow success. Every strain in the library is rated easy, moderate, or hard based on documented attention requirements — water tolerance, nutrient sensitivity, pest pressure, and how forgiving the cut is when a light schedule slips.

The four signals we read

A strain's rating is the worst of these four ratings. A cut can be otherwise tolerant but a single severe sensitivity bumps it up the scale.

01

Water tolerance

Forgives over- and under-watering, root-zone swings, and irregular feed cycles.

02

Nutrient sensitivity

Width of the EC window. Hard cuts burn fast at the high end and stripe at the low.

03

Pest & mold resistance

Documented resistance to powdery mildew, bud rot, spider mites, and thrips.

04

Environment forgiveness

Temperature swings, light-schedule slips, humidity excursions. Tents punish the strict.

Phenotype variation inside a single seed pack can shift one plant up or down a level — select your keepers for the traits you actually want to grow long term.
