Strains by flavor and aroma
Flavor and aroma in cannabis are functions of the dominant terpene profile a strain develops in late flower and post-cure. We pull these tags from every strain in the Lockbox library by reading the flavors and aromas arrays in our editorial dataset, which in turn aggregate breeder catalogue descriptions and grower-community reviews. The result is a single index that groups cultivars by what they actually taste and smell like rather than what marketing copy claims. Use this page to find lemon-forward sativas, fuel OGs, dessert hybrids, or the small herbal-pine landrace category. Each link below leads to a list of every matching strain with breeder, lineage, and grow data.
Flavors below are grouped into five terpene-driven bands — citrus and bright, berry and sweet, fuel and earthy, floral and herbal, and dessert and creamy — so the index reads as a flavor wheel rather than a flat tag list.
Citrus and bright
Limonene-led profiles — lemon, orange, tangerine, and the broader citrus zest spectrum. Most lean sativa-dominant.
6 flavors
Berry and sweet
The widest flavor band on the site — berry, stone fruit, tropical, and the modern sweet hybrids. Dominant terpenes range from myrcene to linalool depending on the specific note.

Fuel and earthy
Diesel, skunk, gas, and the deep Afghani-line earth and wood notes. Caryophyllene and myrcene lead the terpene profile in most of these cultivars.
13 flavors
Floral and herbal
Lavender, mint, pepper, and the herbal-spice band. Linalool, pinene, and caryophyllene dominate. Many Haze-line cultivars sit in this category.
14 flavors
Dessert and creamy
The modern Cookies and Cake-line lineage — vanilla, cream, pastry, chocolate, and the cheese band. Effects lean balanced-hybrid in most cases.

Flavor and aroma tags that do not fit cleanly into the five primary bands. These are reported descriptors from breeder catalogues and grower notes that we surface for completeness.
