Skunk family cannabis strains
Skunk #1 was bred by Sam the Skunkman in California during the late 1970s as a stabilized three-way cross of Afghani, Acapulco Gold, and Colombian Gold — the first true polyhybrid to breed reliably from seed and the genetic backbone of almost every European seed catalogue that followed. When Skunk #1 travelled to the Netherlands in the early 1980s it became the workhorse parent for Super Skunk, Shiva Skunk, UK Cheese, and countless Cup-winning crosses through Sensi Seeds and the early Dutch scene. The family carries a sharp, pungent, almost sulfurous terpene profile that gives the line its name, balanced by sweet tropical and skunky-cheese phenotypes depending on the cross. Plants finish faster than Haze-side genetics — typically eight to ten weeks — stay manageable in height, and reward growers with heavy commercial yields. Strains touching the Skunk line in the Lockbox library include LSD, Pineapple Chunk, UK Cheese, Jack Herer, and Banana Kush, alongside the Sour Diesel ancestry on the Super Skunk side.
